Responsibilities The Director of Sales & Marketing for BWI is responsible for leading the company’s sales and marketing activities, including planning and execution of strategic and tactical plans to achieve established sales objectives within BWI's distribution business. 

Planning:

  • Develop company sales strategy & tactics, and associated resource alignment to reach targets.
  • Analyze and understand current environments and trends, and propose specific recommendations to improve current functional sales processes
  • Develop annual and three-year sales plan for the business supporting the company’s revenue and profit goals.
  • Develop an overall marketing strategy for BWI in conjunction with the Masonite marketing team.
  • Benchmark best in class building product distributors in establishing a long-term road map for BWI’s go to market approach and investment requirements
  • Develop specific category product road maps for each of the core businesses within BWI utilizing specific sales managers as category owners
  • Establish performance goals for the sales team members, and monitor performance on a continual basis.
  • Develop long term program and analysis to stratify customers based on cost to serve and true profitability to align with pricing strategy.
  • Work with Regional Sales managers to develop formal sales process for identifying, qualifying, nurturing and then closing on new business opportunities and incorporating into Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Develop and implement internal training programs for all I/S and O/S sales personnel
  • Work with sales personnel to develop and present annual business plans for key customers that support both BWI strategic and financial goals as well those of the customer.

  • Execute the strategic Sales Plan to maintain existing sales volume, achieve new business targets and drive product mix and profitability.
  • Develop and produce monthly reporting focusing on KPI’s ranging from revenue to customer and product profitability in an “actionable” format.
  • Provide monthly forecasting of sales by major product category
  • Coordinate and communicate the specific objectives of the Sales Plan with the finance, operations and purchasing functions of the business to assure smooth execution of said sales plan.
  • Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations and development of the sales team through clear metrics and continuous coaching, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals. 
  • Utilize the Masonite Mprove process to set clear goals and provide continual feedback to the team on their performance.
  • In filling open positions on the team always focus on upgrading the sales and marketing team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training high potential candidates.
  • Monitor and adjust selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand and assuring company profitability goals are met.
  • Keep up to date with recent market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies. Adjust go to market approaches as required.
  • Develop strong, long-lasting relationships with customers. Effectively communicate BWI and Masonite’s value proposition through proposals and presentations.
  • Drive and coordinate account planning sessions for key customers utilizing and updating their annual business plans.
  • Measure the effectiveness and payback of key marketing efforts including continuous voice of customer feedback.
  • Continually monitor product performance providing key feedback to Masonite, BWI quality and operations in an effort to continually improve and to meet customer’s needs.
  • Plan and execute semiannual sales meetings to ensure continuous alignment of goals with the sales team.
Qualifications
  • 4-year degree required
  • Minimum 5 years in the Building Materials Industry preferred
  • Minimum 2 years Management experience required
  • Preference for candidate to reside in eastern Pennsylvania, but Northern Maryland or New Jersey is also possible.
