Responsibilities

The Technical Services Manager assures all mechanical and electrical plant equipment is maintained and is in good operating condition to minimize downtime, optimize production, machine up-time, and facilitate smooth on-schedule quality production. This position implements preventative maintenance programs, meets maintenance cost and up-time goals, pre-qualifies contractors and administers contracts for equipment installation and maintenance.

  • Establish priorities and schedules resources for all plant
  • Identify root cause of downtime events and implement sustainable corrective action
  • Drives a corporate culture that focuses on facts, tangible results and behaviors
  • Establish and monitor plant-wide preventive maintenance program
  • Leads plant engineering and maintenance staff
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment
  • Manages team performance to drive business results
  • Work with vendors to source/coordinate plant project needs
  • Achieves MRO financial objectives by developing budgets, controlling costs, and maximizing use of available assets
  • Manages inventory of supplies and spare parts for maintenance repairs
  • Ensures efficient utilization of plant personnel and
  • Oversees the process of scheduling and coordinating maintenance repairs
  • Prioritize jobs in order to meet production requirements and other department needs
  • Oversees installation of any equipment
  • Develops and implements with Plant Manager an annual operating plan
  • Behaves continuously and consistently with desired Masonite Mprove values, and characteristics
  • Facilitates meetings effectively
  • Identifies and resolves issues professionally and in a timely manner
  • Keeps abreast of emerging technology and industry practices
  • Leads plant engineering efforts on CapEx projects

  • Hands-on ability and willingness to troubleshoot
  • Electrical background and PLC experience preferred (Allen-Bradley PLC experience highly desired)
  • Must have a demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing in a manufacturing maintenance department direct reports
  • Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs 
  • A certification as a Six Sigma Lean Green Belt is desired
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Kaizen and 5-S experience highly desired
  • Experience with maintenance management software including inventory, work-order system, and MRO
