This position, Staff Accountant I, will be a part of the GBS Accounting Team. Responsibilities will include monthly and quarterly close process activities consisting of the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. Additional responsibilities include SOX compliance, assistance during internal and external audits and participating in special ad-hoc projects. Reports to the GBS Accounting Manager.

  • Assist in month end close activities which include journal entries, analysis, reclassifications and allocations.
  • Prepare and support monthly and quarterly journal entries for our corporate offices and plant locations.
  • Prepare reconciliations for assigned accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance and policies are adhered to.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Improve and maintain documentation and training materials for assigned responsibilities.
  • Take part and assist in process improvement initiatives to capture efficiencies in our processes.
  • Learn and support accounting activities in multiple general ledger systems
  • Assist in fielding and resolving inquiries from management

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • 1-2 years of professional experience
  • Experience with corporate accounting and/or public accounting is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have the ability to pay attention to details
  • Willingness to take on and assist with new and varied projects as they arise
  • Ability to multi task and stay organized
  • Ability to work well as a team as well as independently
  • Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
