Responsibilities

This position is a growth position aimed at leading major capital projects that have been identified as part of the company’s multi-year strategic roadmaps.   The Director will be responsible for all aspects of these products including development, design, construction, start-up and post start-up optimization of the companies most complex capital projects.  The position will report to the Vice President of Residential Operations. Reporting to this position are continuous improvement project managers & process engineers.  In addition, the position will coordinate closely with the Divisional Engineering teams as well as the Product Development Engineers and Process Engineers from the Masonite Innovation Center.

  • Manages the development, implementation, and evaluation of complex Capital projects and strategic Capital Plan
  • Plans, organizes and directs the design and implementation of high profile and complex projects involving multiple facilities.
  • Defines, directs and communicates project vision, program and scope and resources allocation for all phases of the project.
  • Directs and approves project schedules and budgets
  • Directs the performance of capital projects from inception to implementation within the approved schedule and budget
  • Consults with senior management in selection of implementation delivery method
  • Oversees development of project quality standards and selection of implementation delivery method
  • Evaluates and approves changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule of a project. Monitors progress and performance against the project plan
  • Develops, review and submits funding requests.
  • Selects vendors and project consultants and awards construction contracts
  • Manages consultants, contractors, vendors and other business on behalf of the client to effectively plan, organize and control the project
  • Leads project meetings with project team and site engineering
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree: Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Management 
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Business preferred
  • Project Management certification required
  • Black Belt in Lean Sigma preferred 
  • 5+ (10) years in a Staff Manufacturing / Industrial engineering position
  • 3+ years in an engineering leadership role with responsibility for managing Capital projects across multiple facilities
  • Previous managerial experience in a multi plant environment

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access & MS Project
