Responsibilities

The Plant Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the plant operations, including production, safety, quality, shipping, receiving, administrative and cost management. Must have prior manufacturing experience preferably with building products as well as extensive financial experience in operations, P&L, and cost accounting.

  • Oversees and manages the planning and allocation of resources to accomplish the plants goals, including preparation of short and long term production goals, delivery deadlines and asset utilization.
  • Ensures that all administrative, financial and production programs operate within acceptable guidelines and are run efficiently in accordance with the plants established goals.
  • Drive improvements in plant operations, manufacturing processes and procedures leading to productivity and efficiency gains.
  • Work closely with HR to promote fairness in recruiting and hiring, employee development, and assuring compliance with all employment guidelines and procedures.
  • Manage business functions to meet monthly, quarterly and annual profit and operating goals.
  • Manage all human, financial and capital resources of the plant.
  • Responsible for driving improvements in operational KPI’s (SQPDC)
  • Coordinate all plant activities through planning with supervisors to ensure total manufacturing objectives are met or exceed plan.
  • Develop detailed operating budgets for each fiscal year and assure adherence to the operating budget.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships with key company officials, vendors, sales representatives and customers. (Internal & External).
  • Ensure all safety, legal, and regulatory compliance programs are in place and adhered to.
  • Facilitates effective communications across all functional areas and with corporate leadership
  • Participates in maintenance planning to determine required projects, status, and scheduling.
  • Manage overall employee performance issues and systems.
  • Facilitate Lean Six Sigma process improvement opportunities throughout the plant and be the plant ambassador for quality and process excellence.
Qualifications

  • BA or BS Degree preferably in engineering, operations management or business.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a management/leadership role in a manufacturing environment. Preferably within building products, packaging, or automotive.
  • Strong working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
  • Six Sigma or Lean certification highly desired or ability to attain within 1 year.
  • Ability to manage, train, and coach people effectively in a changing environment.
  • Must be process orientated, keen attention to detail and can get results through their team
  • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong operations experience and demonstrated ability to run and grow a manufacturing operation.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, high energy level, and maturity as a leader and motivator.
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities and delegate responsibilities.
  • High ethical standards and integrity
  • Change agent with passion & enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrated experience as a plant manager in plant operations, pertaining to production, maintenance, quality, safety, and administrative functions.
  • Strong computer skills are a requirement, as well as the ability to learn new programs.
