  • Provide leadership at the Tier 2 Meeting ensuring metrics are reviewed; metric misses are addressed with countermeasures, root cause identification, corrective actions, with assigned responsibility and target completion dates and ensure any support required is identified and verified.
  • Maintain the integrity of Tier 2 Board data and information.
  • Attend Tier 3 Meeting escalating issues requiring additional support and communicating the result of the items escalated along with retuning any required information to the Tier 2 team area.
  • Perform regular lean process audits to verify integrity of lean standards and provide training, demonstration and coaching to assigned process/team on lean tools and methodology.
  • Work with team leads to assess employee talent and developmental needs. Develop and maintain a skills matrix and training plan for all shift employees which is reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Holds regular engagements and GEMBA walks with team leads and operators to facilitate achievement of production requirements, consistency, and teamwork.
  • Work with team leads to direct production activities in accordance with Master Production Schedule and established priorities, ensuring maximum utilization of assigned resources, machines, personnel, and materials.
  • Working with team leads to evaluate and suggest improvements to functional leadership on production methods to improve productivity and improve quality.
  • Solicit from support functions recommendations for design and development approaches and improvements for tooling and tool utilization, production capable tolerances, equipment, i.e., fixtures, material handling equipment, production gages and inspection devices as required for new and existing production.
  • Understands and supports quality policies and implements guidelines to assure adherence to quality documents and standards.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and development of process operators to include discipline, addressing complaints and resolving issues in accordance with applicable laws and/or company policy.
  • Identifies and highlights any activity or process that may lead to the defect of a product or allow a defective product to lead the team area.
  • Uses caution and follows safety rules to protect self and others from injury throughout the operation. Reports injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment or practices immediately to supervisor.
  • Demonstrates high degree of accuracy, good judgment in using tools, equipment, etc., when non-standard situations arise.
  • Education: Associates degree required, Bachelors degree preferred.
  • 3 - 5 plus years work experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • 3 plus years supervisory experience in a production work environment.
  • Must be certified Green Belt or willing to achieve within first 18 months and knowlege of LEAN manufacturing.
  • Willing to be a change agent in the organization and demonstrate through actions the ability to change oneself and grow from experiences of success and failure alike
  • Team Leadership; ability to lead associates
  • Ability to work a 2nd shift, 4:00 pm -12:00
  • Experience with painting and finishing in automotive or furniture industry preferred.
