Responsibilities

This position will be the key process Engineering resource and liaison between Product Engineering and Operations as it relates to the introduction of new or modified products. Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors. Support production in reducing/eliminating equipment and tooling downtime or scrap, utilizing good analytical methodologies. Facilitate process/continued improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Create, share and maintain best practices solutions with other Masonite sites. Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.

  • Developing an annual capital plan;
  • Managing and coordinating capital projects to achieve project objectives, on time, within budget and within Quality expectations;
  • Optimize plant layout and manufacturing processes;
  • Work with Quality and Production to implement Lean Manufacturing processes;
  • Provide local leadership and coordination to new product development initiatives and work closely with the Masonite Innovation Center;
  • Work with corporate Engineering members to develop and implement best practices;
  • Complete drawings and production documentation for custom and customized doors, frames and entranceways;
  • Introduce and implementation to automate drawing production and work order generation wherever possible;
  • Create CAD Drwings for customers doors, frames and entranceways for customer support approval;
  • Create CAD Drawings for production of customs doors and door components including CNC machine files(DXF files) for custom door components;
  • Verify production orders for standard doors and work with production to release custom doors orders;
  • Verify production orders have the right hardware configuration per customers requirements.
Qualifications
  • Preferred Degree in Architectural or Engineering;
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar position; 
  • Previous exposure with below programs is an asset:
    • Architectural Technology;
    • Construction Engineering Technology;
    • Electrical Engineering Technology and Techniques;
    • Manufacturing Engineering Techniques
  • Ability to take initiative on a wide range of project activities.
  • Excellent communication skill;
  • Ability to manage workload with flexibility and close attention to details;
  • Reliable with high integrity and strong work ethic;
  • Self motivated with a results driven approach;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
