The Electronics Technician exists to provide PLC, automation, and controls support for production units and related operations at the Masonite International Door Manufacturing facility located in Laurel, Mississippi.  This person will work directly with hourly E/I technicians and will take direction from the engineering and maintenance supervisory personnel.

Key Accountabilities:

  1.  Provide PLC controls, and automation troubleshooting to assigned production area(s).
  2. Modify and develop new PLC programs for production equipment.
  3. Assist in startup, troubleshooting, training on new projects.

Key Challenges:

  1.  Work with E/I technicians to develop skills and methods to improve process reliability.
  2. Maintain the integrity and reliability of the current control systems.
  3. Assist the Electrical Engineers with maintaining the accuracy of the documentation and E/I training materials in each Production Area.

  • Minimum of 5 years industrial electric experience
  • 2 year electrical degree

 In this position, you will work with all of the hardware and software listed below.  The candidate should possess a good working knowledge of as many of the items as possible.

  •  Reading and understanding electrical schematics and PLC I/O diagrams.
  •  Working knowledge and hands-on experience with the following:

Allen-Bradley PLC’s (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500, MicroLogix)

Allen-Bradley HMI’s (RSView Stations, FactoryTalk View, PanelView, PanelView Plus)

Allen-Bradley Communications (DH+, Remote I/O, ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNetIP)

Allen-Bradley PLC Programming Software (RSLogix5, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000)

Allen-Bradley HMI Programming (RSView32, FactoryTalk View ME, PanelBuilder32)

  •  Working knowledge and hands-on experience with the following or equivalent:

Toshiba Variable Speed Drives (wiring, programming, and recovery)

Allen-Bradley 2100 MCC’s and starters (wiring and recovery)

Electrical Enclosures and Junction Boxes (schematics and wiring)

Camera Systems (EtherNet and Closed Circuit)

  •  Working knowledge and hands-on experience with Instrumentation:

Field analog instruments (FT, LT, PT, Nuclear Level, Nuclear Scales, etc.)

Field digital devices (Limit Sw., Proximity, Photoeye, Speed Sw., etc.)

Instrumentation calibration and recovery         

  • Motoman robotic systems
