Responsibilities

The Website and digital marketing designer designs and maintains RES and ARCH websites by planning and executing design; maintaining, updating and upgrading website content.  It’s the primary liaison between the visual and content marketing team and the development team. Reports to the Design Manager.





  •  Design of new site pages, sections, landing pages and micro sites




  • Develops site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and designers; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.




  • Responsible for content modifications, additions, and deletions and implementing approved digital enhancements within Masonite’s web-based content management system (WordPress).




  • Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links.




  • Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.




  • Audit and continually monitor the website to ensure that pages are accurate, content is current, pages are free of errors from both, functionality and aesthetic perspective




  • Verify compatibility within all browsers and across mobile devices




  • Work with development team to test new content before move to production




  • Maintain metadata and other inputs in the system to optimize search engine results.




  • Perform image manipulation tasks such as creating thumbnails, image resize, file format conversion and simple image and copy edits.




  • Create and maintain multimedia, including photo galleries, slideshows, and videos embedded in Web pages




  • Manage all work requests within a tracking system (Jira is preferred)




  • Distribute posting notification to the appropriate stakeholders.




  • Verify that all content is approved through proper channels and systems prior to posting.

Qualifications

  • Highly creative, well rounded, and problem solver

  • Expert level of web publishing technical knowledge and WordPress

  • Maintain a working knowledge of SEO and web traffic principals and metrics

  • Solid writing and communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines

  • Hands on experience with MS Office and WordPress (or similar platform) a must

  • Able to create and edit images using Adobe Creative Suite

Required skills:



  • Bachelors Degree in UX design, equivalent or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.

  • Minimum 2 years as a web designer in a fast paced or in-house creative setting with content maintenance responsibilities. This is not a web development position

  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS
